For tourists, an appointment with a doctor costs from $100. Many medical tourists come to Turkish clinics for plastic surgery.
National cuisine
Turkish cuisine is known all over the world. It has national dishes of Arabic, Mediterranean and Georgian cuisines. Some of the most popular dishes are juicy kokorech (fried offal (heart, lungs, kidneys, etc.) stuffed into mutton or goat intestines), all kinds of kebabs, crispy pita, sweet baklava, strong fragrant coffee and delicious Dondurma ice-cream.

Digital Nomad Visa
Instead of a nomad visa, Turkey provides an opportunity to obtain a short-term residence permit, also known as “ikamet”.
Short-term residence permit
A residence permit is issued for up to 1 year and is already done in Turkey. You can apply if you plan to stay in the country for more than 3 months for a period of 180 days.
To apply for a short-term residence permit, you need:
- Notarized confirmation of long-term rental housing
- Medical insurance for the entire period
- Bank statement confirming the availability of sufficient funds ($500 for each month)
- For spouses, you need a marriage certificate with a notarized translation into Turkish
- Fee is around $45
Registration for the submission of documents for a residence permit takes place on the official website of the General Directorate of the Migration Service of the Republic of Turkey.
Visa-free
Most countries have 90 days of visa-free travel: Ukraine, Kazakhstan, EU countries and others.
The exception is Russia – 60 days for one entry, and for Belarus – 30.
You can stay in the country for 90 days out of a period of 180 days. If you want to stay longer, you can apply for a short-term residence permit.

To enter Turkey on a visa-free basis, you need:
- Valid passport
- Accommodation booking
- Insurance policy with coverage against Covid-19
- Return ticket. (In fact, this is almost never asked)
